Newport Folk Festival
Scheduled for July 30-August 1, 2010, the Newport Folk Festival brings together an eclectic gathering of musical artists, performing outside at Fort Adams State Park with the sparkling water of Narragansett Bay as their backdrop. In addition, travelers will enjoy the summer sounds of Newport, stroll the waterfront and enjoy the many restaurants and historic attractions that Newport offers.
The Hotel Viking’s Folk Festival package includes two nights accommodations and two tickets for both Saturday and Sunday, (July 30 - August 1 2010) at the festival; breakfast buffet for 2; Valet parking. Carefusion Jazz Festival
The world-famous Carefusion Jazz Festival features the country's top jazz musicians performing live outside at Ft. Adams State Park. Travelers will listen to cool jazz while taking in the sights and sounds of summer in Newport! The Hotel Viking’s All the Jazz package includes overnight guest room, complimentary breakfast buffet for 2 daily, valet parking and two festival tickets for either August 7 or 8 - 2010. Priced starting at $629, double occupancy, All that Jazz may not be combined with any other offer or discount. 2 night minumum may be required. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Newport Comedy Series
Laughter is good for the soul…and so is staying at the Hotel Viking this summer while enjoying the Newport Comedy Series great line-up of comedians at the Newport Yachting Center. The Laughter and Luxury package includes overnight accommodations, complimentary breakfast each morning, free parking during stay and two front row tickets to see the comedian of choice. Priced starting at $689, double occupancy.

Spirits & Stogies
The Top of Newport at Hotel Viking again welcomes warm weather Wednesdays with a vibrant blend of spirits, cigars and the right atmosphere. A perfect place to unwind after work or a long day, ‘Spirits and Stogies Wednesdays’ offers superior cigars matched perfectly with high quality spirits. Blending opulence and craftsmanship, these hand-selected smokes offer the finest tobacco from around the world. “Spirits and Stogies” is held at the Top of Newport cocktail bar, on the Hotel Viking Newport rooftop. Guests sample selected spirits paired naturally with the evening cigar. A spirit expert passionately familiar with the featured cognac, brandy, port wine, single malt scotch, tequila or rum will be on-hand to spread the word about the unique nuances of each tasting selection. Small bites prepared by our own Executive Chef Kevin Thiele will be passed to complement each cigar and spirit. The event is limited to 30 people and is $35 per person, non-refundable.
