To welcome those children who have been asking, “When are we going to get there?”, there will be a large, old-fashioned wooden cart in the lobby filled with jump ropes, yo-yo’s, slinkys, Frisbees, inflatable beach balls, paddle balls, pinwheels and wooden tops. Oh, to be a kid again!

No separation anxiety necessary for the family and family pet. Hotel Viking welcomes pets in its Newport Wing with a sack of ‘homemade’ organic dog biscuits from local ritzy gourmet dog boutique, Cricket & Riley. The menu is presented on a large format placemat that has games and activities on it to while away those pre-meal anticipatory moments. For grown-up appetites, Chef Thiele has just launched all new Spring menus – American bistro with global influences, highlighting fresh New England seafood, high-quality meats and poultry, and locally-sourced ingredients, along with a diverse, contemporary cocktail and wine list. Weather permitting, there is al fresco dining off the main dining room and guests can order picnic baskets to take to the beach.
